This is my rendition of one of the greatest piano songs in my opinion. Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way It Is.” Its a bit raw, but I know I would never be 100% satisfied with it so here it is. This is an experiment in video editing and a major technical challenge on the piano. The drum part was easy to play, but the recording quality is far from great. I’m fine with it for now, though… just getting my feet wet. I hope you enjoy.

My dad took some of my moms breastmilk that she pumped for me and put it in another glass and tricked her into drinking it. She couldn’t tell the difference between it and dairy milk.

Same happened to me, except I didn’t produce at all, my baby needed something, so guess what? Formula! Nothing came out of me until almost two weeks after his birth, by then he didn’t want to take it. Never ever judge, you don’t know the curcumstances. Plus, my son is healthier than most kids(he’s almost 2 now)
Next time someone bugs you say “OK, go down to _____ and offer the mother crack for breastmilk.” Should see their faces when you do that! MWAHAHAH!

Instead of leaving them a bottle of formula with them in their cribs, give them some clean good water. Prevents tooth decay and anything smelly getting on the covers and baby. And I’m sure they have bottle nipples that are designed better so your baby can’t choke.
btw Tooth decay in babies is called bottle rot. Never leave them with formula or soda or anything. Not even with breastmilk.

@JenniMystic…I hear a lot of mothers complaining about the same thing. I was wondering, how did you find out nothing came out? Were you actually trying to feed your baby via the breast or were you mixing breast and bottle when your baby was a few days old?
March 6th, 2010 at 9:59 am
why the thumbs down, it’s true. Actually leaving them alone with them in the crib is a bad idea, including bottles.
March 6th, 2010 at 10:13 am
I tried to breast feed only for two days, then after having sore nipples and really hungry baby I gave him the bottle.
March 6th, 2010 at 10:16 am
He wouldn’t suckle after, because nothing came out of course, but I pumped my breasts with a hand held breast pump.
March 6th, 2010 at 11:55 pm
Well I didn’t mean that people should leave them in there. We shouldn’t. I’m just saying that instead of formula we should have them drink water. No bottle rot or a mess to clean. Nobody leave your baby alone with anything too small that he could choke on, or anything that could smother him.

I’m breastfeeding right now actually. I breastfed my first 20 months, my second for 22 months and my 10 month old is still going strong. It just makes sense. The antibodies alone are worth passing on to your baby!!

can I just say to people who are being put off breastfeeding for what ever reason their is always hope I had 5 children the only one who was fully breast fed was my FIFTH child, with each child I tried it and didn’t like it. But with my FIFTH for some reason I didn’t give up it wasn’t always easy but I’m so proud I finally acheived B/Feeding I am pro choice what ever you decide. don’t let me or anyone else push you.
March 28th, 2010 at 6:58 am
can I also add the reasons for giving up the first FOUR times was mostly due to depression I just felt depressed being tied to a baby all the time. But with growing older and wiser I duno I just felt more ready for it this time round, so I B/fed my fifth child until he lost interest around 9 months old and preferred his food. which apparently sometimes happens.

@jstalilred I couldn’t agree with you MORE, my mum is a midwife and has talked alot about nurses (as one example) bullying patients into breast feeding, the thing is when you are very young and having your first baby you don’t always know your options so you think if you don’t breast feed you are a bad mother and feel guilty, people just don’t realize what they are doing to these young mothers by bullying them. DON’T BULLY PPL. Let a mummy make her own choice.
April 16th, 2010 at 2:14 pm
so you and most other research says that breastfeeding is better for the baby AND the mother as well as being free food?
